Biography
Tomislav Mužek is one of the finest and most versatile tenors of his generation. Ever since his debut in 1999, he has appeared at almost all the most important opera stages around the world (La Scala in Milan, Bavarian State Opera in Munich, Opéra Bastille Paris, Saxon State Opera Dresden, Hamburg State Opera, Berlin State Opera, Teatro Real Madrid, Vienna State Opera, Vienna Volksoper, Teatro Comunale Florence, Teatro Comunale Bologna, Teatro Regio Turin, Teatro San Carlo Naples, Teatro Carlo Felice Genova, Zurich Opera House, Grand Theater de Geneve, Theater du Capitole Toulouse, Bayreuth Festival…) under renowned conductors (Riccardo Muti, Myung Wun Chung, Gianadrea Noseda, Gustavo Dudamel, Ottavio Dantone, Pierre Boulez, Christian Thielemann, Simone Young, Peter Schneider, Jonathan

His repertoire includes operatic and concert works of Mozart, Beethoven, Donizetti, Verdi, Puccini as well as Weber, Wagner, Humperdinck… Tomislav Mužek is also in demand as a concert and lieder singer. For example at the Salzburg Easter Festival in 2007 he sang Beethoven’s “Missa Solemnis” under Bernard Haitink with the Berlin Philharmonic, but also in 2019 Dvorak’s “Stabat Mater” under Christoph von Eschenbach with the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden.

Tomislav Mužek was born in Siegen (Germany), but he grew up and lives in Croatia.From 1994 he studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. He studied Lied and oratorio in the class of KS Robert Holl and graduated (MA).
